I'm fundraising to help Lighthouse Foundation end youth homelessness

2023 Rally for Youth

Tuesday 28th Nov
This Saturday December 2nd I will be partaking in a social tennis challenge, Rally for Youth to help raise funds for the Lighthouse foundation to end youth homelessness.
Did you know?
- On any given night, 122,494 people in Australia are experiencing homelessness*.
- One in seven people experiencing homelessness are children under 12*.
- 23 per cent of people experiencing homelessness – that is almost one in 4 – are children and young people between 12 and 24*.
*2021 ABS Census data
In the City of Stonnington alone, approximately 395 people are homeless with around 90 of those aged between 12-24 years old. It is astonishing and deeply concerning that this is happening ‘on our watch’ in the affluent areas surrounding Royal South Yarra’s magnificent facilities. In the words of our Founder, Susan Barton AM, “This is simply not ok.”
100% of vital funds raised from this event will help Lighthouse to continue to provide safe and stable homes, wraparound therapeutic care, foster care and in-community outreach programs to traumatised and vulnerable young people at risk of, or experiencing homelessness right across Melbourne.
